We advocate for girls to learn traditional craftsmanship skills like working with tools and creating with construction materials. These are skills are often not taught impacting their ability for independence and workforce.

Our objective is to close the gap between genders when it comes to creating, constructing, and building.

We have run our Girl with Grit Workshop throughout the Country with an emphasis on underserved communities. We enter all kinds of spaces with girls and teach them doing nontraditional things and working with tools. Our hope is it helps break down the barriers in how skills are associated with gender.

We will be in Crested Butte, Co in July running Girl with Grit Workshops. Through a partnership with the Town of Crested Butte, these workshops are free. These workshops are designed to introduce girls, in particular, to tools and working in sustainable construction. All youth 8 to 18 that participate will build a birdhouse with us for free.
