We advocate for girls to learn traditional craftsmanship skills like working with tools and creating with construction materials. These skills are often not taught, impacting their ability for independence and workforce.
Our objective is to close the gap between genders when it comes to creating, constructing, and building.
We have run our Girl with Grit Workshop throughout the Country with an emphasis on underserved communities. We enter all kinds of spaces with girls and teach them doing nontraditional things and working with tools. Our hope is it helps break down the barriers in how skills are associated with gender.
All students leave with a birdhouse they built from scratch boosting confidence, know-how, and basic skills.
