Please note, Session I and Session II have different workshops, students can take the sessions in any order. 
Girl with Grit Program is an intensive but fun skill building session for those 8 and up. Over the course of this16 hour, 8 workshop program for advancing skills students, we will learn through practical and fun hands-on projects. Our workshops span information from tools to tires to rewiring a lamp to entrepreneurship and creating a budget – all with the goal to leave a lasting impression and introduction in a fun and safe way.
Our program has been called potentially life-saving and life-changing by law enforcement and behavioral scientists. Not only can teaching these skills protect our youth, it can open up interests in new career paths and hobbies, help them gain confidence, and learn self-efficacy. .
Join us for a fun and unique hands-on opportunity to learn practical skills with experienced and trained instructors. From birdhouses to jumping batteries to financial literacy to safety on the roads, in wilderness, or at home – Girl with Grit is all about teaching surviving life’s basics.

SESSION II WORKSHOPS

BUILD FROM SCRATCH
(using tool and carpentry skills from Session I, students will design and make their own build)

AUTOMOTIVE: ART AND ENGINES
(get familiar with engines, learn about automotive body and paint)

STEM/STEAM IN THE TRADES
(drafting and technical drawing, tinkercad, 3-D Printing)

RESCUE 911
(practice your rescue skills in fun and interactive scenarios)

EXTERIOR AND HOME DIY
(caulking, yard tools)

INTO THE WILD
(hike at state park)

FINANCIAL FAST FACTS
(savings and investment)

ENTREPRENEUR LAB II
(making the pitch, market field trip)

CERTIFICATE OF MASTERY
Youth and families can come join us for a celebration of their new grit and skills with a review of skills taught. Students will be awarded their Certificate of Mastery. These students are now able to get service hours through us.

COST: $200 per 16 hr session per person

This agreement releases Girl with Grit Program and its affiliated parties from all liability related to injuries that may occur at any location at any class, camp, workshop, or event, regardless of whether injuries or contraction of illness are caused by negligence. I swear that I am participating voluntarily, and that all risk has been made clear to me. I forfeit all right to bring a suit against Girl with Grit Program and it's affiliated parties for any reason, in return, myself or my child will receive participation in Girl with Grit Program. I will ask for clarification when needed. All students must adhere to a basic code of conduct and posted facility rules.

WORKSHOP REGISTRATION

Session I workshops are best for those new to the program. Session II are advancing skills.
