Camp Grit and Camp Girl with Grit are intensive but fun life skills camps for all youth. Over the course of classes with us, youth learn about the skills it takes to survive. We engage students with fun, hands-on learning and projects.

Students join us weekly for a fun and unique hands-on opportunity to learn life skills with various experienced instructors. From tools to tires to financial literacy  AND EVEN safety on the roads, out in wilderness, or at home – Camp Girl with Grit is all about teaching people the basics.

During Camp, we are joined with instructors from Texas Women in Trades, NAWIC, MSC Direct, Frost Bank, NOLS and various community leaders that are experts in their skillset.

Girl with Grit and Camp Grit

Our Mission

Girl with Grit Program started as a purely GIRL POWER 501c3 nonprofit youth program but have adapted to include ALL per community needs and requests. We didn’t like being discriminated against as girls so we don’t discriminate against others and that’s where Camp Grit started.

Girl with Grit is a 501c3 educational nonprofit that believes that saturating more general life skills from tires to sewing and carpentry to cooking can help develop more independence. Without these skills, one can be held back from careers, hobbies, passions, interests, and just plain life.

Girl with Grit partners with Camp Grit to provide opportunities for ALL youth, adults, and those in need of independent living skills to get these skills.

Girl with Grit has been in multiple publications and on various podcasts and was featured in the cover story “Girl Power” in the San Antonio Business Journal. We were also recognized by San Antonio Mayor Nirenberg and nominated as Best Nonprofit in Boerne, TX.

Upcoming Events

Please look for Girl with Grit at local markets in both Boerne, TX and Wimberley, TX. We are at Wimberely Market Days the first Saturday of most months of the year. We are at Boerne Market Days the second weekend of most months.
