Spring Session II – Girl with Grit Program

SPRING:
SESSION I:
2/28 – 4/24 (Wednesdays, 5 to 7 PM)
SESSION II
: 2/23 – 4/26 (Fridays, 5 to 7 PM)

Join us weekly for a fun and unique hands-on opportunity to learn life skills with various experienced instructors. From tools to tires to financial literacy to safety on the roads, in wilderness, or at home – Girl with Grit is all about teaching surviving life’s basics.

First Workshop:
Build from Scratch
This module is geared towards growing handiness with tools, carpentry, and building with creativity and problem solving.

Second Workshop:
Automotive: Art and Engines
Students will learn more about the way an engine works through hands-on projects. To enhance the creativity, students will get the opportunity to learn about automotive paint with a hands-on project. 

Third Workshop:
STEM/STEAM in the Trades
The goal of this class is to implement knowledge about skilled trades and practical trade skills everyone needs to know in a fun, interactive way. Students will learn about drafting, technical drawing, CAD, and 3-D Printing. Students will design a dreamroom in tinkercad.

Fourth Workshop:
Rescue 911
We will run real life interactive rescue scenarios as a fun game to reinforce their Session I emergency skills.

Fifth Workshop:
Into the Wild: Hike
We will go explore the closest State or Public Park to see firsthand how important and easy it is to access nature.

Sixth Workshop:
Exterior Home and Yard DIY
Youth will learn basic household skills to help them outside with an emphasis on yard tools and exterior home know-how from caulking to pressure washing. 

Seventh Workshop:
Financial Literacy
The goal of this workshop is to learn about saving money and investment.

Eighth Workshop:
Entrepreneur Lab II
We will learn the basics of business through a fun and interactive pop-up business.

Certificate of Mastery
Youth and families can come join us for a celebration of their new grit and skills with a review of skills taught. Students will be awarded their Certificate of Mastery. These students are now able to get service hours through us.

4/19/24 – FINANCIAL FAST FACTS: SAVINGS AND INVESTMENT

4/26/24 – ENTREPRENEUR LAB II

4/26/24 – CERTIFICATE OF MASTERY
